Bikalpa Art Center is holding a young Artists Studio Support Program (December 2020 – February 2021) which is a residency-like experience and an opportunity for young artists to understand practical implementations of their practice in a new atmosphere, working under the curatorial direction and producing work with strong narratives. The first iteration’s selected artists are Pooja Duwal, a graduate student of Kathmandu University and Subodh Subba graduate of Sirjana College of Fine Arts. Pooja Duwal is a visual artist based in Kathmandu, Nepal. She completed her Bachelors in fine arts from Kathmandu University Department of Arts. Having majored in Studio Art, she is passionate about telling stories around her through the medium of paint. She is part of Aakrit Collective, an artists’ collective based in Bhaktapur. She has also been teaching art at Drawing Room Ktm since 2019. Furthermore, she is also keen on expressing her ideas through writing. Subodh Subba is an art student pursuing his fine arts degree at Lalitkala Campus. He completed his +2 from Sirjana college of fine arts. Subba is passionate about drawing, sculpture and painting. He has participated in the Sirjana watercolor workshop, The Buds XII annual exhibition and traditional woodcarving workshop. We will be holding several other programs as part of this event.
