As apart of the Trans Studio Project 3.0 the BAC is hosting a lecture by Professor Abhi Subedi on Modernism & Nepali Contemporary Art on 25th May 2018 (2 pm-4 pm)
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in Nepali Art & Culture to learn more about Nepal’s fascinating art scene.
Professor Abhi Subedi is a Nepali poet, playwright, linguist, columnist, translator and art critic. Professor Subedi was an English lecturer at Tribhuvan University for forty years, ice-President of the Nepali Folklore Society of Nepal, founding former President of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) UNESCO from 2000 to 2008, member of International Playwright’s Forum from 2000-2011, and a member of the International Association of Theatre Critics. He has been involved in a number of interdisciplinary study groups and is a prolific writer on issues of freedom, culture, literature, arts and social transformation. His essays and seminar papers have been published in Nepal and abroad.
The Trans Studio Project 3.0 is a three-week intensive transdisciplinary project, that aims to bring together professionals for a myriad of different disciplines, too, in the spirit of collaboration, use collective wisdom to produce individual works of art. The overall aim of this project is to educate society on socio-political issues facing contemporary Nepal through art. This workshop will culminate with a week-long exhibition in the BAC studio, opening on the 8th of June.
