Bikalpa Art Center is looking for determined and self-motivated interns who would like to learn and guide, share their knowledge, wisdom, experiences that may bring a significant impact on the artistic community and society.

Who can apply?
BAC has been receiving interns from across the globe for a long time and even in this COVID-19 situation, the VIRTUAL INTERNSHIP is open. You may have a look at the interns’ work at our website. The following will be the basic requirement for interns who could apply for this opportunity.
- An enthusiast with an open mind and quick learner who is passionate about art
- A person with good writing and communication skills
- Art learners, motion/ graphic designers, young curators, educators, or anyone who has a basic knowledge of World/ Nepali contemporary art.
What are the working areas?
Bikalpa Art Center is known as one of the most vibrant art organizations in Kathmandu, Nepal however after the COVID-19 crisis, it has synchronized our programs and activities in a smaller size. Our current programs are mostly focused on research and digital archiving, project planning and writing, podcasts, and online workshops/ exhibitions.
What are the working hours and how could an intern work during the COVID-19 situation?
At this particular time, we are flexible regarding the working hours however there will be instructions and guidelines for works based on your knowledge and expertise. And yes, It will be a completely ‘work from home’ internship following up with regular online communication. You may expect 3 days (alternate) a week communication and 12 hours a week work time.
Deadline:
There is no deadline for the internship program; we accept interns throughout the whole year. However, we are working on a few online projects at the moment and few are lined up to be started so we would expect new interns to join by the end of September or even sooner.
What could an Intern expect in return?
This internship is an opportunity for young enthusiasts who wants to sharpen their skills and establish their career in the field, build networks, gain experience, learn new things, or just be around art scene. We normally provide food and some basic transportation fees while the interns work from the center physically. But in this particular situation, we would like to offer the intern a token of love with internship certification. Intern’s name will be credited on our website and in the project, they will be involved in.
