Here at Bikalpa Art Center, we’re introducing a brand new Arts, Culture, and Cinema Resource Center where all the resources relevant to Nepalese and International Arts, Culture and Cinema will be facilitated and shall be open for public use including (but not limited to) personals like Artists, Anthropologists, Filmmakers, Writers, Journalists, Students and Researchers working in these fields.
Under Arts, Culture and Cinema Resource Center @ BAC we’ll be facilitating the following programs/events:
Arts, Culture and Cinema Resource Center
A proper and well-resourced resource center is very essential for the development of a vibrant arts and culture scene. For this very purpose, we here at BAC are collaborating with various NGOs/INGOs, National and International government’s Art and Culture programs and various business and corporate houses to come together to fund and build an Arts, Culture and Cinema Resource Center.
For proper and smooth operation of this resource center, our team will be collaborating with various types of aforementioned organizations to conduct various Art Programs and facilitate a vibrant art scene in the city with a plan to have both national and international impact.
Additionally, our team will also collaborate with several organizations to organize various types of flash programs, discussion events, exhibitions and educational events in order to rejuvenate and add to the vibrance to the arts and culture scene.
All the events will be recorded on video and shall be made available on their respective ‘playlist’ section on the official YouTube Channel of BAC. Furthermore, the resources and videos shall be provided to educators and curators on a demand basis.
Tiny Stage
Tiny Stage is a featurette/video essay formatted session which will be held in front of a live audience where the participating artist/s showcase their art and talent. On this program the artists, alongside showcasing their art, are also welcome to introduce the audience, both live and online, about their creative endeavors as well as their creative processes.
The video will be featured on the ‘Tiny Stage @ BAC’ playlist section of the official YouTube channel and the video will be provided to various educators and curators on demand.
KTM Pop Chat:
KTM Pop Chat is a podcast-styled video interview session hosted weekly by BAC where the host/s invite various people from the artistic scene and talk about various aspects of the art scene. In this short pre-recorded video program the guest/s are encouraged to dive deep into the popular and contemporary art, their own artistic endeavors and are also welcome to open up about their personal and artistic journey if deemed relevant to the motive of the program which is to boost the voices on art and art scene.
The video will be featured on the ‘KTM Pop Chat’ playlist section of the official YouTube channel and the video will be provided to various educators and curators on demand.
Movie Evening/Night @ BAC
Movie Evening @ BAC is created for the sole purpose of making people aware of more artistic and autour cinema a bit shadowed by the ‘goliath’ commercial and contemporary popular cinema. This event shall be held every Wednesday @ BAC where some renowned figures in the artistic cinema scene will be invited and shall watch a designated movie together.
After the screening, the audience present will participate in an informal form of chit-chat/discussion with the invited guest. For the proliferation of art and artistic cinema, discussions in a timely interval are particularly important for the rejuvenation of the artistic scene. This program will facilitate an open and wide discussion on cinema and art.
On top of that, this program will also provide opportunities to new and talented filmmakers and audio-visual artists. Their projects will also be featured on the official YouTube Channel of BAC and also will be helping to popularize such events and artists. Having met the goal of this program we’ll create a significant buzz around art, cinema, and visual art which is imperative for the proliferation of art scene through-in and throughout.
