Chris Cohoon is an American artist based out of Illinois who has done his BFA from Illinois State University, IL. His work deals with the process of creating substance and letting it grow over time. He calls himself a process artist.

Working conceptually, Chris employs a variety of media to converse about the juxtaposition of the eternal and the temporal, preservation and entropy. Much like the European Renaissance theme of Vanitas, Chrisʼ work encourages participants to consider the lasting value of oneʼs brief life. Whether using painting, sculpture, or installation, He often invites, or even forces, participants to physically interact with his pieces, often destroying them as audience-based performance.
